This wine is very expressive in its aromas of ripe wild berries, especially ripe red berries and some jam.
The Aragonês and Trincadeira varieties were harvested at the beginning of September, while the Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested at the end of the month. The D. Martinho wine is made in the new, modern winery at Quinta do Carmo in Estremoz.
Traditional winemaking was used where the grape varieties are vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with short post-fermentation macerations to preserve the fruity aromas. The final blend is aged for 6 to 9 months in storage until the wine goes into the bottle.
