Ferreira Tawny Port is produced from a careful selection of traditional red grapes from the Douro region - Touriga França, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela - selected from Ferreira's own estates and surrounding vineyards. It has a fresh and delicate aroma of spices and dried fruit acquired during ageing in oak. On the palate it is an elegant wine with a good balance between ripe tannins and sweetness, giving it a persistent and attractive finish. It goes very well with a wide variety of desserts with caramel or coffee and is ideal served with apple pie or a traditional crème brûlée. It also goes well with strong or blue cheeses such as Roquefort. Served chilled with dried fruit, it is also a very pleasant aperitif.
