Porto Ferreira Ruby is produced from a careful selection of traditional red grapes from the Douro region: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela, selected from Ferreira's own estates and surrounding vineyards. Porto Ferreira Ruby is a wine with an intense, well-defined ruby color. Its intense aromas are reminiscent of very ripe fruit, refined by the careful ageing in wood and the batches that occur during the natural ageing process. Full-bodied and rich, it has a good balance between its sweetness and tannin structure, which gives it unique characteristics with a very persistent, fine and attractive finish. Traditionally, Porto Ferreira Ruby is served with creamy cheeses, but it also goes very well with chocolate desserts and fruit tarts.
