Pisco is the name of two different varieties of grape brandy, produced respectively in Peru and Chile. Both varieties are fundamentally based on the distillation of must from grapes. Despite the legend about its Chilean origin, pisco is genuinely a Peruvian product that is even recognized worldwide as the producer of the best Pisco in the world.
